MBIO2018

MBIO2018 - Microbiota and human, animal and environmental health: prevention and future treatments - June 19 and 20, 2018

The INRA, via its implication in the study of microbiomes, participated actively in the MBIO 2018 seminar where over 200 acedemic and industrial scientists gathered.

Three INRA units were implicated in its organization: MICALIS Institute, MetaGenoPolis and GABI (a member of the Institute Sciences Animales Paris-Saclay - SAPS). The Animal Health Division was also implicated.

With the concept of "One Health" (one World, one health), the symposium made it possible to illustrate, through all presentations and round table discussions, the major need to study living organisms (plants, Men, animals) in interaction with their internal and external microbial ecosystems. The initiatives like the MBIO2018 conference help create links between actors in human, animal and environmental health. These bridges are necessary to openly address health and sustainability challenges and the opportunities offered by the new knowledge from the microbiome study. These interactions will allow the development of innovative responses to shared problems, such as zoonoses risks and resistance to anti-infective agents.
